FOR GMAIL · BUILT IN AUCKLAND

Know the moment
your email gets read.

Opendot tells you the instant someone opens what you sent — filtered so a notification means a person actually read it, not a mail server checking in.

THE PROBLEM

Most emails go quiet.
You're left guessing.

You send the quote, the follow-up, the invoice — and then nothing. Did it land in the inbox? Did they see it? Are they thinking it over, or did it get buried under a newsletter? Gmail won't tell you, so you wait, or you chase.

WITH OPENDOT

The moment it's read,
you know.

Opendot adds a small, invisible pixel to what you send. When it's opened, you get a notification — and a running dashboard that shows exactly what's been read, and what's still waiting.

WHY IT'S ACCURATE

Not every "open" is a person.

Most trackers count everything: your own glance at Sent, a mail server prefetching the image, a security scanner sweeping the inbox before a human ever sees it. Every one of those becomes a false "they read it." Opendot tells them apart first — so when you get notified, it means something.

prefetch · 0:14

Ignored. The image was fetched fourteen seconds after sending — before anyone could plausibly have read the message.

sender · own view

Ignored. That request came from you, checking your own Sent folder — not the person you wrote to.

human · 2:14

Counted. Real timing, from the recipient's side, matching how people actually open mail. This is the one you get notified about.

HOW IT WORKS

Nothing to learn.

Write like normal

Compose in Gmail exactly as you always do. Opendot adds an invisible pixel the moment you hit send — nothing changes for the person reading it.

We watch, quietly

When the email is opened, we check who's really behind it — filtering bots and your own views out in the background.

Get notified

The second a real person opens it, a notification lands on your desktop. No refreshing, no guessing, no chasing.

PRIVACY

Honest, not just useful.

We don't read your inbox — the extension only ever touches the message you're actively writing. We don't sell data, and we don't run ads. On the free plan, every tracked email says so, right in the message.

One honest limit: recipients who block images won't register as opens. No tracker can see around that — we'd rather tell you than pretend otherwise.

FAQ

Questions worth answering upfront.

Not yet. Opendot works with Gmail today; other providers are on the way.

On the free plan, yes — every email includes a small "Sent with Opendot" line. Pro removes that line, so you're responsible for letting people know if that matters where you are.

Then we won't see the open. It's the one real blind spot no tracker can fix, and we'd rather say so than oversell it.

Yes. There's a small toggle right in the Gmail compose window. Switch it off and that message sends with no tracking at all.
